Sesé to manage the new cargo terminal at Zaragoza airport

Sesé is strengthening its presence at Zaragoza Airport and will be responsible for building and managing the new terminal, which will have the largest cargo handling capacity at the airport. The company will open these facilities in 2026 and will manage them for the 20-year duration of the contract established by Aena. Sesé expects an estimated investment of 18 million euros to carry out the project.

The new terminal, the airport’s largest, will have an area of 18,500 m2 and 34 loading bays that will allow for greater efficiency and agility in the loading and unloading of goods. Sesé already has its own terminal on the front line of Zaragoza airport and an additional logistics centre in the vicinity, where it provides comprehensive airport logistics services: import and export of goods; deconsolidation and consolidation of pallets or air pallets; quality control; customs management and flight supervision, among other services.

“Taking on this project is proof of our firm commitment to offering the best air transport service to our customers. Having this new terminal allows us to considerably expand our capacity and consolidate our position as the airport’s main air cargo handler, the third in Spain with the highest volume of cargo handled.”, confirmed Manuel Gallegos, Global Director of Air and Sea Transport at Sesé.

Comprehensive management of airport logistics

In recent years, Sesé has strengthened its commitment to air freight management and has expanded its services both nationally and internationally. In terms of facilities, Sesé has its own front line terminals in the airports of Madrid, Barcelona and Zaragoza; and airport logistics support centres in Madrid, Zaragoza and Amsterdam.

In addition, the company has its own software for the management and control of airport handling, which allows it to digitalise both the operational and administrative processes of such a specific activity that includes cross-dock services; planning and control of trucks for loading and unloading, and control of the goods that are transferred to air traffic.
